Genetics

EMaBS children and their families have agreed to participate in genetic studies.  First of all, these will investigate associations between genes and the immune response to vaccines given during the first year of life.  Later, the same genetic data should be useful, for example, to assess the role of genes in other EMaBS outcomes – such as allergy related disease (Protocol).  This work is being done with colleagues from the Jenner Institute at the University of Oxford, and at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Center.
